Engineering students from the University of Michigan

The volunteers are first given a brief history of the Southeast Michigan Land Conservancy by Scott our stewardship coordinator.

They helped SMLC move some heavy pipes that will to be used for a bridge in the LeFurge Woods Nature Preserve.

A techique designed by Scott using ropes and wooden dowels helped the team carry the heavy load.

After the pipes were successfully moved, they even took the time to haul out this garbage found in the preserve.
